Sadly, twleve horses are dead. After the truck where they were kept overturned in Canada. The driver was immediately charged with careless driving. The livestock trailer was carrying 44 horses in all, and was on Deerfoot Trail when it tipped over into the median strip and overturned. A few of the horses managed to escape, good thing, passing motorists stopped to help. Although most of the poor horses were trapped lying on top of the other. Firefighters managed to cut through the trailer to free the trapped ones. 8 died at the scene and others were taken down manually. The rescue took around three hours to complete as the trailer was duivided into three chambers that made the rescue attempt much more difficult. They were set to return supposedly, to Bonnyville.
